Reading Girls Basketball Clinches Another Middlesex League Title
Despite a tough loss to Stoneham on Friday night, the Reading girls varsity basketball team locked upa share of the Middlesex League title.Much of the team’s success continues to hinge upon key players such as junior captain Carlene Kluge; seniors DanaPowers,and Amanda Flower; and freshmen sensations Oliva Healy and Morgan O’Brien.These girls all participated in AE’s Preseason Hoops Program, which met 3 times a week for 3 weeks in November.The program combined off-court speed, agility, strength and conditioning training with on-court skill development to prepare each player for tryouts and the upcoming season.
Several other players – Desh Perera, Gracie Starble – participate in other AE programs year round and we are proud to say that they are a part of our athlete base.Congratulations to all the girls for their hard work and success and best of luck in the tournament!
