Reading Girls Basketball Clinches Another Middlesex League Title
February 10th, 2010 by brianDespite a tough loss to Stoneham on Friday night, the Reading girls varsity basketball team locked up a share of the Middlesex League title. Much of the team’s success continues to hinge upon key players such as junior captain Carlene Kluge; seniors Dana Powers, and Amanda Flower; and freshmen sensations Oliva Healy and Morgan O’Brien. These girls all participated in AE’s Preseason Hoops Program, which met 3 times a week for 3 weeks in November. The program combined off-court speed, agility, strength and conditioning training with on-court skill development to prepare each player for tryouts and the upcoming season.
Several other players – Desh Perera, Gracie Starble – participate in other AE programs year round and we are proud to say that they are a part of our athlete base. Congratulations to all the girls for their hard work and success and best of luck in the tournament!
