After an outstanding high school and college football career at Reading Memorial High School and Syracuse University, Erik focused his career on improving athletic performance and health and wellness for people of all ages and abilities. Erik has personally trained over 35 local athletes whom he has helped receive Division 1 scholarships in football, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and baseball. Recently Erik had a local athlete sign a professional contract in each of the 4 major professional sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL) including Chris Shaw who was drafted in the 1st Round of the MLB draft.
Erik was selected in the past as one of 7 strength coaches to travel with NIKE and SPARQ to perform various speed and agility camps across the country. Erik is viewed as one of the nation’s leading NIKE SPARQ trainers. He was recently asked to travel across the country and speak at Keiser Power Summits on their behalf due to the work he has done using their products.
Over the past 4 years Erik has started and grown both an NFL and NBA combine training program; giving New England athletes an alternative to programs down south and out west. Erik takes great pride and modeling his craft after his time with world respected speed coach Tom Shaw. During the past 4 years Erik has been behind 14 signed NFL contracts and 2nd Round NBA draft pick, Pat Connaughton, who recorded the 2ndhighest max touch ever recorded at the NBA combine. Erik is a certified by the NSCA as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Prior to joining Athletic Evolution, Scott led the Assumption College Football summer strength and conditioning program after completing three diverse internships. His internships included a private training facility, his Alma Mater, UMass, working with the basketball, hockey, lacrosse and football teams, and Sports and Physical Therapy Associates. A former captain of Hudson High School’s football and ice hockey teams, Scott graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a degree in Kinesiology. During his college years, Scott was a member of the UMass Amherst football team and earned the UMass special teams “Player of the Year” in 2010 while starting at fullback.
Scott’s passion for strength and conditioning stems from years of pushing himself to attain his own athletic goals. He is dedicated to helping young, driven athletes accomplish their own athletic goals. Scott has worked with every type of athlete from Youth to the Pros, as well as adults. He prides himself on being able to adapt each workout to the individual needs and goals of each client. Scott also assists Erik with the NFL and NBA combine programs each winter and spring after multiple seasons interning with him. Together they have helped over 30 athletes sign NFL contracts and 3 athletes get drafted. In the summer of 2012 Scott took over the Internship program and ran it for 7 years before handing it over to Kaitlyn Roux in 2018. During his time as Director of Education Scott welcomed over 250 interns to his program from across the United States and from nearly 20 countries across 5 continents.
Scott is also heavily involved with injury prevention and rehab. He takes pride in helping athletes come back from major injuries stronger and better than before their injury. Over the past 5 years Scott has helped over 50 athletes return to their sport following ACL surgery.
Scott is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA and is a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting.

Kaitlyn has been with Athletic Evolution since 2013 starting with 2 consecutive seasons as an intern, which quickly turned into a full time coaching position. After graduating from Merrimack College with her Bachelors Degree in Sports Medicine, Kaitlyn worked with various teams, ages, sports, and individuals looking for 1 on 1 training.

Julie started at AE PT is April of 2019 after working as an outpatient orthopedic physical therapist in the Greater Boston area. Before completing her clinical doctorate in physical therapy from Northeastern University, she earned her respective Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Allied Health Science and Sport Management from the University of Connecticut.
Due to extensive injury, she was able to compete in six seasons of NCAA Division I women’s soccer for both the Penn State Nittany Lions and UConn Huskies. Through injury and athletics, Julie has learned to embody qualities of cooperation, coachability leadership, resilience, and empathy. It is her hope that she can now bring these qualities to any and all professional environments that she may find herself. She aims to help people of all ages and abilities reach their rehabilitation and/or sport performance goals, but is particularly passionate about helping injured soccer players return to sport after ACL reconstruction. This has ultimately lead her to found Just4Kicks Boston, an organization aimed at providing soccer-specific ACL prevention and performance enhancement to players who wish to mitigate their own risk of injury.
Julie is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has recently acquired her certification in Dry Needling for Orthopedic Rehabilitation and Sport Performance. Julie believes in empowering her patients with the self-efficacy needed to facilitate recovery. While she enjoys implementing manual therapies like soft tissue mobilization, active release techniques, joint mobilization, and spinal manipulation, she particularly values the utilization of therapeutic/corrective exercise. She appreciates staying current with the latest literature and applies evidence-based techniques to practice daily.

Before AE, Dana attended Worcester State University where he helped train the football and lacrosse Teams. In the Spring of 2015 he started his internship with AE and continued through the summer before being brought on full time. He was a 3-year starter for Worcester’s football team before attending the 2015 NFL Regional Combine. He specializes in linear speed development, footwork, and athletic development in football and basketball. For the past 3 years Dana has also worked with AE’s successful NFL Combine Prep Program. Throughout the spring and summer he transfers his Combine skills to his high school athletes as he helps them prepare for their combines and camps.
Dana is the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Skate 3 in Tyngsboro and the Islanders Hockey Club Teams based there. He also is the Director of AE’s upcoming Football Academy and works with North Reading, Burlington, Austin Prep, and Wakefield football teams. Dana is a Certified Functional Strength Coach and is CPR/AED certified

Dan Thiesing joined the AE coaching staff as a Strength and Conditioning Coach in the summer of 2018. Dan was hired after first coming to AE as an intern in the fall of 2016, after the internship he was welcomed back for a fellowship in the Fall of 2017. Dan grew up in Sandwich, MA. While attending Sandwich High School Dan played baseball and basketball all four years. Dan attended Merrimack College and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2017. In 2017 Dan returned to Merrimack College for his Master’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science, earning his degree in 2018.
Dan is currently the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Reading High School Boy’s and Girl’s hockey teams. He is also the Strength Coach for the U14 Islanders Hockey Program, training out of Merrimack College. Dan is also a Personal Trainer for Football, Hockey and Baseball athletes of all ages. Dan is currently studying for the CSCS through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Lauren Bennett is a board-certified Physical Therapist and recent graduate from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Lauren joined AEPT in the summer of 2020 and has been a part of the AE family for 7 years prior (as an athlete, intern, strength coach, and PT student). She values an environment based on patient connection, open communication, and patient autonomy. She emphasizes patient education in order to empower patients to better themselves and give them the tools to manage and prevent future injuries.
Lauren earned her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition at UMass Lowell in 2017. During this time, she competed in Women’s Volleyball at the Division 1 level. Lauren has accrued 7 years of experience in weightlifting, conditioning, and health and wellness habits which she enjoys bringing into the PT clinic. She has gained experience in the outpatient as well as inpatient physical therapy settings and was trained under Julianne Hubbard – a renowned therapist for ACL reconstruction rehabilitation and tear prevention. Her special interests lie in sports PT, return to sport, and shoulder rehab.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys being outdoors with her new Labrador puppy, reading, writing, hiking, and playing volleyball. She has continued to play volleyball post-college, travelling nationally and competing in local tournaments and leagues.

Maureen joined Athletic Evolution Physical Therapy at the end of April 2019 with over 12 years of physical therapy experience. She completed her Associates of Science (AS) in Physical Therapy at Baystate College in Boston in 2006. She then decided to attend Salem State College for another 3 years where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science (BS) in Athletic Training in 2010.Maureen grew up a dancer, and loved ballet, tap and lyrical dance. Her love for dance sparked her interest in the human body and ultimately led her into the Physical Therapy field. Her clinical interest includes Orthopedics, evidence based treatment approaches, and hands on manual therapy.When not in the clinic, Maureen enjoys chasing after her two young children, spending time with her family and friends, working out and baking.
